Grateful Dead Steal Your Face Roses

It's a must-have for any fan. In June 1976, the Grateful Dead released a double album titled "Steal Your Face." It features the iconic "lightning skull" logo front and center on the album’s cover, thus officially connecting the logo to the phrase. Now, the "Grateful Dead Steal Your Face Roses" tattoo is here. It is as colorful as it is unique. It does include the "lightning skull", but with a twist. Inside the skull is a view from space with the earth, planets, and stars. But the feature is the design is down below. The skull is resting on a semi-circular bed of roses. They appear to form the bottom lip of the skull and purposely fill out a very large smile. Three smaller roses extend from each side, pointing upward. It's as if it's telling you that all of the action is up above. Your eyes can't decide where to look. But some fans might say the roses appear to be a symbol of remembrance, a token of sweeter times, an emblem of love and living spirit. Or it's just a play off the original "Skeleton Amid Roses" portrait that turned up around the same time. In either case, this tattoo is an instant conversation for any party or get-together.
